06.03.2026 - 15.03.2026 From March 6 to March 15, the Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus invites you to the traditional exhibition of spring-flowering plants "Breath of Spring". On the eve of March 8, blooming flowers will become a symbolic gift of the long—awaited spring, especially for our charming women. These days you will be able to plunge into the atmosphere of lively scents, delicate colors and real floral magic. To bring spring closer, the garden staff "woke up" the plants from hibernation using a professional distillation technique — a complex agrotechnical technique that requires special knowledge, precise preparation of planting material and strict observance of temperature conditions. The result is more than 170 varieties of tulips, daffodils and hyacinths from various garden classes, prepared for flowering during the exhibition. About 50 varieties of tulips have been prepared for the show, ranging from traditional simple shapes to terry, fringed and parrot—shaped. Among the spectacular varieties: Tom Pouce — a delicate combination of pink and yellow Terry-Fringed Brisbane Estella Rijnveld parrot with curved petals resembling feathers; bred by mutation from the historical Red Champion variety (1930) Crimson-red Hennie van de Most from the Triumph group with shining gold edging Purple, filled with mysticism Flaming Flag, Fortess, Alison Bradley For the first time, 8 species of tulips will be presented — Tarda, Ferganica, Pulchella, Clusiana and others. The Pantone Color Institute has announced the neutral white Cloud Dancer as the main color of 2026. At the exhibition, you can see how multifaceted the white color can be: the snow-fringed tulip Snow Crystal hyacinths Carnegie, Fairy White, White Pearl 66 varieties of hyacinths will fill the space with spring freshness: pale pink China Pink and Fondant rich purple Purple Sensation sky blue and peach shades noble burgundy Woodstock More than 60 varieties of daffodils from different garden groups will demonstrate: large and miniature "crown-cores " dense double shapes unusual petal geometry cyclamen-shaped flowers touching daffodil poetic Visitors will see how varieties of primroses vary in shades, bud shape and plant height. The exhibition will be complemented by the delicate greenery of flowering shrubs. Only in the Botanical Garden during this cold season can you see blooming lilacs, peonies, mysterious dream grass and other spring surprises that will be presented for the first time. During the exhibition, the curators of the collections will hold "Curator's Hour" meetings, where visitors will be able to: learn about the diversity and classification of bulbous plants, receive recommendations on care and agricultural techniques in different periods of plant life , and hear interesting scientific facts to reveal the secrets of distilling at home. Special attention will be paid to practical issues: what to do with tulips and hyacinths after distillation? how to properly preserve the bulbs? how can we help them recover from forced flowering and achieve flowering next year?
