The modern tulip collection of the botanical garden consists of 530 varieties and 25 species representing 15 garden classes. The collection fund is represented by varieties of different flowering periods, thanks to which you can admire their flowering from mid-April to the end of May. The collection is constantly updated. Tulips are not only beautiful, but also capable of surprising. Here are some interesting facts about these flowers... Tulips appeared on the planet 15 million years ago, and by now there are more than 80 species of these flowers. The tulip was a symbol of the ruling dynasty of the Ottoman Empire for several centuries. The word "tulip" came to European languages from Turkey and comes from the word "turban". The international body for certification of tulip varieties is located in the Netherlands.
