12.04.2025 - 13.04.2025 On April 12-13, 2025, from 10:00 to 17:00, the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus will host an exhibition of cacti and succulents "Cactusomania"! The exhibition will feature more than 2,000 plants native to Mexico, the USA, Peru, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, as well as succulent plants of the African continent. Visitors will be presented the rarest specimens of cacti of the genus Pterocactus, Pelecyphora, Pediocactus, Ubelmania, Aztekium, Ariocarpus, Wiginsia, large-flowered Mammillaria, cultivars of Astrophytum hybrids of unusual shape and color. These days, from 11:00 to 17:00, the doors to the closed collection fund of the Central Botanical Garden will open! Visitors will have a unique opportunity to get acquainted with our collection of cacti and succulents, which includes more than 900 specimens. The variety of species, shapes and varieties presented will not leave anyone indifferent! The exhibition will be attended by famous Belarusian collectors Alexander Slutsky, Alexander Kokarev, Andrey Tymul, Yulia Dalidovich, Vyacheslav Kolesnikov and others. Visitors will be able to communicate with collectors, get acquainted with the exhibits presented and learn the nuances of growing cacti at home. The exhibition will be interesting for both experienced and novice cactus lovers. Within the framework of the exhibition, only on April 12, from 11:00 to 12:00, a thematic workshop for children on sowing cactus seeds will be held, where young amateurs will be told and shown how to choose an earthy mixture, as well as how to properly prepare cactus seeds for sowing. After the end of the event, the workshop participants will be able to pick up their pot with crops and watch at home how the little "cacti" germinate and develop! Age: 8+ On Sunday, April 13, the first 100 visitors to the exhibition will be able to try their luck – there will be a distribution of rooms at the entrance, three of which are lucky. The collectors have prepared special gifts for them! The addition of the exhibition will be "Fluttering flowers". Paintings and panels of butterflies collected from different parts of the world will delight with their brightness, diversity and sophistication. Here you can see day and night butterflies, inhabitants of tropical forests and the polar tundra, giants and dwarfs, famous and recently discovered species, poisonous butterflies and travelers, the rarest and most expensive, symbol butterflies and mascot butterflies.
