12.06.2025 - 13.06.2025 On June 12 and 13, the Central Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus invites you to a guided tour of the exposition of rare and protected plants. The Central Botanical Garden is the only place in the country where a scientific collection of plants included in the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus is collected. The specially equipped site contains more than 130 endangered species, many of which are unique. Among them grow extremely rare relict plants of forests, swamps, meadows, reservoirs, and even plants that have already disappeared on the territory of our country. During the tour you will be able to see the rarest and unique plants of the Belarusian nature.: • wild orchids (ovate stash, long-leaved pollen head, May palmroot, green-flowered lovage), • relics of past geological epochs (yellow rhododendron, majestic chistoust, Lapland willow), • extinct species in Belarus (shaggy milkweed, smelly apozeris, shield-leaved marsh flower), • as well as learn some interesting facts about other endangered plants, their value to humans and the need for protection; • and, of course, to talk with researchers who study and preserve endangered plant species.
